USA–DRC: a lasting economic partnership that redefines power relations in Africa
Washington trusts Kinshasa to build long-term cooperation based on transparency and mutual interests.
Under the crossed flags of the DRC and the United States, the DRC-USA Economic Forum, held this week in Washington, marked a major turning point in bilateral relations.
For Kinshasa, this is not just a summit: it is international recognition of an economic diplomacy undertaken by Prime Minister Judith Suminwa Tuluka.
A self-confident DRC
" This Forum embodies the shared desire of our two nations to build a lasting and mutually beneficial partnership ," said Judith Suminwa, stressing that the DRC " is no longer seeking one-off aid, but balanced cooperation ."
A statement applauded by the American delegation, and seen as a strong signal of trust between Washington and Kinshasa.

Africa at the center of a new balance
With its strategic resources (cobalt, copper, lithium) and colossal hydroelectric potential, the DRC is establishing itself as the African engine of energy and industrial transitions.
The United States, faced with dependence on China for critical minerals, now sees Kinshasa as a key partner in global economic security .
Reforms and attractiveness
Simplified taxation, digitalization of procedures, special economic zones: the Suminwa government is multiplying reforms to attract foreign investors .
" The business climate is an instrument of economic sovereignty ," summarized the head of government, recalling that trust is also built on stability and transparency.
A symbolic agreement
The signing of a $1.5 billion contract with Hydro-Link LLC for the construction of an Angola-DRC hydroelectric line illustrates this new direction: a DRC exporting green energy, integrated into its regional environment.
A new era of cooperation
The DRC-USA Economic Forum seals more than an agreement: it opens a lasting partnership, based on reciprocity and vision. Kinshasa becomes, for Washington, the first trusted African strategic partner , in an Africa in full reconfiguration.
